Contentment in Everyday Life

Five Class Course begins Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 7 and ends  June 5, 2012 (no class May 22) Tuesday, 7-9:00 p.m.
At Healing Waters Yoga Center, 542 Quaker Rd, East Aurora, NY For more information see Upcoming Event
Contentment is hard to find. We usually think contentment is found in things, achievements or experiences.  This course provides an exploration of mindfulness meditation, the foundational views of the hinayana Buddhist teachings, and meditation in action for daily life. With meditation practice, we learn to appreciate ourselves and simple human experiences. Difficult emotions and the challenges of life can be met with gentleness, steadiness, and humor.
Contentment in Everyday Life is both a companion class to Shambhala Training Level II, is also an excellent introductory course on it's own. Open to everyone.
This is the second course in our core program, The Way of Shambhala, which provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation. This series is designed to be applied to the complexity of our daily lives, and to develop courage and sanity in these troubled times of uncertainty. The Way of Shambhala series offers a structured path of meditation and an introduction to all that Shambhala offers. It also offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation can impact our daily lives, and from there how the sanity of meditation can expand to impact our whole society.
